Bennie Poodle (Miniature) Senior Male for sale in Dublin, Ohio

Bennie's story
Bennie and June are 13 year old poodles (15 lbs) who were dropped off at a vet office by their owner claiming they had cancer and to euthanize them.  The vet ran tests and found no evidence of cancer.  Called the owner who relinquished them for death and told them that they were misinformed.  The dogs did not have cancer.  That's when the owner came clean and admitted lying so she'd take the dogs.  The family had gotten a new puppy for Christmas and the older dogs weren't doing well with a young active puppy.  She didn't want Bennie and June back.  How incredibly sad.    One of our volunteers has taken these dogs into her home temporarily but she has other dogs and these seniors just want to be in a quieter home without big enthusiastic dogs.  Keeping Bennie and June together would be nice but they'd also do okay getting adopted separately as long as there is another smaller dog currently in the home for companionship.  They do okay around other smaller dogs.  They are also fine with cats.   They like people and are generally laid back.  They are housebroken if they are kept on a schedule.  They are great eaters and love to snuggle and walk well on a leash.  They want to be near their people but are very careful about not getting underfoot.   Both of them handled being groomed well, and June even fell asleep while being shaved,  They allowed their nails to be cut and baths were handled with little fuss.  They both love being combed out. They are eating dry grain-free food.  Bennie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.   **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at http://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
