We are pleased to be able to update you on Sully.
He loves to cuddle with his people but is alert and curious about what is going on around him. He definitely can be called a velcro dog which shows how much he is learning to trust people. He is both affectionate and gentle. He is learning to walk on hard inside surfaces and will now drink out of a bowl and is enjoying his food more. He is becoming curious about toys which is a huge step forward.
He has gotten along with his foster sibling dog, but there has been an adjustment period, so he might do best being the only dog and with someone who is home quite a bit. Barking and quick movements make him nervous and his way of dealing with his fears is to run away from what he perceives is something to be afraid of.
He is a gentleman in the house, house-trained and will go in the crate but is not too fond of it. He walks well on a leash, does well in the car and now can get into a vehicle himself. He still has many fears; if you drop something and it makes a noise he will avoid the item in the future.  He is fearful of raised hands so treats are offered in an open palm down by the floor. But he is making good progress, a lick on your hand or foot tells the story: people are ok and worthy of trust and his fosters are thrilled. We believe that as trust grows his fears will continue to diminish.
